3Leaf Systems Enables V-8000 I/O Virtualization with HP BladeSystem c-Class
Completes Interoperability Testing Between the 3Leaf V-8000 Virtual I/O Server and HP BladeSystem c-Class Running VMware ESX

3Leaf Systems announced that is has successfully performed interoperability testing of the 3Leaf V-8000 Virtual I/O Server with the HP BladeSystem c-Class and an HP StorageWorks 8100 Enterprise Virtual Array running VMware ESX. Successful completion of interoperability testing with HP marks a key milestone in 3Leaf's strategy and commitment to delivering greater data center resource utilization and reduced costs through virtualization solutions for the x86 server market.

"We have worked closely with HP to fully test our V-8000 Virtual I/O server," says B.V. Jagadeesh, CEO, 3Leaf Systems. "The blade server market is the fastest growing x86 market segment and HP is the recognized leader in the space. We have established proven interoperability with HP, enabling 3Leaf to seamlessly deliver I/O virtualization for HP's industry-leading blade platform used by many of our customers and partners."

The 3Leaf V-8000 virtualizes the I/O for a large pool of connected servers, enabling enterprises to consolidate their networking and storage I/O, removing the need for local NICs and HBAs, reducing the networking and storage port requirements, and greatly increasing resource utilization. In addition, the V-8000 significantly reduces the time to both provision and repurpose servers, delivering increased data center agility, flexibility, and centralized management. The V-8000's rich feature set dramatically reduces data center costs, delivering a 50 percent reduction in both capital and operating expenditures.

"Customers running virtualized environments can reduce costs, simplify the management of their technology infrastructure, and improve server utilization," said Mike Kendall, manager, BladeSystem Solution Builder Program, HP. "Coupled with HP's BladeSystem architecture, 3Leaf's V-8000 Virtual I/O server offers customers an ideal platform to simplify their infrastructures by virtualizing the I/O."

Interoperability testing of the 3Leaf V-8000 with the HP BladeSystem c-Class was performed collaboratively at the HP Partner Technology Access Center in Cupertino, Calif.

LATEST AJAXWORLD RIA STORIES
It's a wonder it has the entry fee, but Sun Thursday showed up for the RIA race against Adobe’s Flex, Flash, and AIR and Microsoft's Silverlight – and for that matter the open source AJAX – riding JavaFX 1.0. According to Sun it's one of the most significant advances ever t...
Most of the discussion surrounding Web 2.0 applications revolves around the way it revolutionized end users' interaction with applications and with other users. An area that is sometimes left out of the discussion is the impact Web 2.0 had on the developers who are actually build...
We shouldn’t forget that Java really started as an RIA technology back in the late 90s with applets. But I don’t think JavaFX will win any “hearts and minds”. In the end, I think everybody goes with what they know. Dot Netters will go with Silverlight, and Adobe people wi...
One of Silverlight’s advantages over Flash is the relatively effortless interop with AJAX. The other day, I needed to mash up some JSON data from various sites, and found it pretty easy to use AJAX to circumvent the crossdomain.xml restriction.
"The Internet marketplace has evolved within and well beyond the traditional Web browser, fueled by an explosion of Java-powered smart phones and consumer electronic devices from RIM's Blackberry to Amazon's Kindle," said Jonathan Schwartz, CEO & President of Sun, as JavaFX 1.0 w...
